A case book example of how the mainstream media try to downplay the conviction of a child sex offender when the rapist is a member of an ethnic minority community.
There should have been much more press coverage on this historic child sex abuse case where a multiple offender was finally brought to justice for sex crimes against vulnerable little girls committed during the 1970’s and 1980’s.
Local and some regional news outlets briefly covered the case but the national news media ignored the story. There were too many elements to this case which do not sit well with liberal-progressive journalists and reporters.
This case presented a series of problems for both ‘progressives’ and the political Left because the offender was a member of an ethnic minority community and in recent years the cultural Marxist agenda has been to avoid labelling child sex offenders as paedophiles but to class them as ‘Minor Attracted Persons (MAP).
In this case the child rapist, Batley resident Yusuf Sacha was revealed in court to be a sexual predator of the worst kind. The Pakistani Muslim pensioner was arrested in Batley in February 2021, and was then charged in October 2021.
Given the current backlog of serious crime trials, Yusuf Sacha eventually stood trial in January 2023 at Leeds Crown Court for 12 historic sex offences committed between 1979 and 1985. On February 28th 2023, Yusuf Sacha was found guilty of all the charges and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Sacha was presented as a 69-year-old ‘community elder’. The prosecution stated that over the period of the offences “he abused his status as a community figurehead“. During the time he committed multiple serious sexual offences against children and in court West Yorkshire Police classed him as a ‘serial child sex offender.’
“The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death).”

At the conclusion of the trial he was guilty of a total of 12 charges including; one charge of rape, two indecent assaults and an act of indecency with a child against one victim, two charges of indecent assault and two charges of acts of indecency with a child against a second victim, and three indecent assaults and an act of indecency with a child against a third victim.
As far as can be gathered from the court report, all three victims were young girls and all were from the Pakistani Muslim community in Batley. It is not clear whether future cases might yet be brought against Yusuf Sacha.
Given the high-profile media coverage given to the Asian grooming gangs operating in West Yorkshire and elsewhere in the North of England, the mainstream media are reluctant to highlight such cases of sexual offences against children by members of the Pakistani community.
